Peroneal decompression in multiple osteochondromatosis

Multiple osteochondromatosis can lead to nerve compressions,
including involvement of the common fibular nerve, resulting in
pain, sensory alterations, and muscle weakness. This study aims to
report the case of a patient with an osteochondroma at the fibular
neck who presented with pain and sensory deficit in the deep fibular
nerve distribution. Surgical decompression included the release of
two critical entrapment sites – the proximal fibular tunnel and the
lateral intermuscular septum – along with complete resection of the
lesion. The patient achieved full functional recovery within three
months. This case reinforces the importance of early recognition
of fibular nerve compression and timely decompression to prevent
neurological sequelae.
