Abstract

Intercondilian fractures of the humerus in adults are one of the most difficult challenges with regard to the surgical treatment of distal humerus fractures, with a wide decision that allows good exposure of the joint surface and reduction. In most cases a posterior access with “V” osteotomy of the Olecranon is performed, and after the recovering of the joint surface and reduction of the fragments, the fixation with orthogonal or parallel plates is carried out: However, in some cases, where there are comminuted fractures, even without compromising the columns, unconventional fixation techniques should be used. Here there is a description of a case with an open reduction and fixation with mini screws and microfragments, due to personality and commination of the fracture, and considering the possibility of joint stiffness and arthrosis, the most frequent complications in this type of injury.
