Abstract

Posterior malleolus fracture is a specific type of fracture that usually occurs in association with a fracture of the ankle or a pilon fracture. Posterior approaches were originally designed to fix the Volkmann fragment, which is frequently associated with lateral and / or medial malleolar fractures. This patient undergone a posterolateral approach with plate fixation and lateral and posterior malleolus screw, after radiographic and tomographic studies, with early mobilization and ambulation after 6 weeks of osteosynthesis. The only complication was surgical wound dehiscence, which resolved after 3 weeks without surgical intervention.
