Abstract

Posterior shoulder dislocation is a rare condition that most often occurs in male individuals during an episode of seizure crisis, electric shock or high-energy trauma. Not rarely, acute posterior shoulder dislocation is not diagnosed in the first visit and evolves to inveterate dislocation, a challenging situation, since the small sample makes it difficult to define evidence-based treatment strategies. This case report addresses surgical treatment, with shoulder hemiatrthroplasty, in a patient diagnosed with inveterate traumatic posterior glenohumeral dislocation and with multiple osteochondromatosis.
