Abstract

Ruptures of the knee extensor mechanism affect quadriceps tendon, patella and / or patellar ligament. Among the lesions, the patellar ligament is the least frequent, with disinsertion of the distal pole of the patella. Avulsion of the patellar tibial tubercle ligament in adults is rare. Trans bone repair with the use of anchors has been proposed in the management of some of these injuries. We describe a case report of disinsertion of patellar ligament of a patient treated surgically by reinsertion of the patellar ligament using anchors associated with the post screw as a protective mechanism.
